Bernhard Reinke played with several bands (see biography) before he started as a bandleader to play original music. His first group was "Transfusion" which, besides himself, consisted of David de Marez Oyens (Bass) and Fred van Vloten (Drums). They made two records, "Driftin" in 1989 and "Cabo Blanco, from a distance" in 1992.

With his band "Roller Coaster" he made two records, "Under your skin" in 1996 and "Moving images" in 2000.

With his new band "Bernhard Reinke's Xpedition" in 2004 the CD "TwoSides" was released. The line-up was as follows:

"Bernhard Reinke's Xpedition" is formed by performers with broad musical background and interests. They shape Reinke´s music from their own personal inside. Improvisation and interaction are important in this music, which gives the group its jazz-character.

Equipment

Bernhard Reinke uses the following guitars:

• a dark-blue Gibson ES 137C, (3/4 acoustic with block, sort of a big acoustic Les Paul) with a Gibson Classic '57 pickup fitted in the neck-position.
• a wine-red semi-acoustic Ibanez ES 335 - type guitar (early 70's). This instrument has 3 pickups: neck - a Gibson Classic '57, middle - Seymour Duncan Original Strat, bridge - Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck and is wired like a Stratocaster with five-position switch. These two are Bernhard's main guitars on stage. In the studio he uses more guitars like:

• a brown-sunburst acoustic Ibanez FG 100 jazzguitar (early 70's)
• a dark-blue solidbody Fender Heartfield guitar with locks and a Floyd Rose tremolo with a Gibson Classic '57 pick-up in the neckposition (these guitars were only made 2 years by Fender, they say it is a Ibanez RG 747(?) with the head the other way round)----------------------

• He uses a Hughes and Kettner Access as preamp and a Mesa Boogie Mark III and a Polytone Minibrute IV as poweramps.
• Effects: for delay, reverb and stereo (fine-tune) he uses a TC Electronics G Force
• The guitar-synthesizer is a roland GR 30 with GK2A and GK3 drivers.
• On all guitars Bernhard plays D'Addario .0095 strings.
• Bernhard plays D'Andrea Ultra Plec 2.00 mm plectrums for their warm but still percussive sound.
